From Food Truck to The Farm

Stephen and Stephanie’s story began back in 2003, when they first met while working in the service industry. Though their early careers took different paths, Stephanie moving into administrative work and Stephen running a tile installation business on Long Beach Island, they always shared the same values: a strong work ethic, a love for people, and a passion for hospitality.

In 2009, Stephanie followed her heart into the culinary world. She worked the line in small restaurants, gaining hands-on experience in both food preparation and large-scale kitchen management. Before long, she was serving the LBI community as a personal chef, building a reputation for thoughtful menus and memorable meals.

As Stephanie’s private dinners grew, Stephen began stepping in to help — assisting with cooking, service, and coordinating the flow of each event. Their teamwork quickly became seamless, and by 2016, the couple launched Sunny Rae’s Food Truck. The truck became a beloved fixture across the region, known for high-quality ingredients, creative menus, and warm, personal service. Whether beachside lunches, town festivals, or private parties, Sunny Rae’s quickly became more than just food — it was community.

Operating at Bayview Park on LBI cemented their local presence, serving both year-round residents and summertime visitors daily. Their consistency and care led to more personalized requests, from backyard weddings to in-home dining experiences, blending the fun of a food truck with the intimacy of shared meals.

Their connection with The Farm on Main began through a mutual contact in the building trade. After conversations — and a trial dinner — it became clear that their culinary style and dedication to service were the perfect fit. On September 16, 2023, Sunny Rae’s hosted their first dinner at The Farm, marking the start of a new chapter.

By the end of that year, Stephen officially left the tile business to join Stephanie full-time, and together they’ve poured their energy into Sunny Rae’s Kitchen. Today, as the exclusive in-house catering partner at The Farm on Main, Stephen and Stephanie are proud to lead a team dedicated to crafting elevated comfort food that’s rooted in warmth, seasonality, and unforgettable flavor.
